The UCLA Department of Biostatistics has its home within the prestigious Fielding School of Public Health (FSPH). The department is renowned for its frontier research in data science, high-performance computing, high-dimensional statistical modeling and inference for BIG DATA settings in diverse biomedical and public health applications. It boasts 1 National Academy of Medicine member, 1 COPSS Presidents (Nobel prize in statistics) awardee, 4 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) fellows, 3 American Public Health Association (APHA) Mortimer Spiegelman Award recipients, 13 American Statistical Association (ASA) fellows, and 6 Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) fellows.
